When cameraphones first hit the mainstream, my first thought was “What the… why on earth do we need to put a camera in a phone for?!? A cell phone is needed for just one thing: making phone calls!”
Since then, my thinking has changed. There have been myriad of times when I have seen something I want to snap a picture of, and lo and behold, my camera is nowhere around. Of course, my phone is. My phone goes with me everywhere I go. Wouldn’t it be great to just grab my phone and get the picture?! Easy as pie!
In the future, the current time we are in will be referred to as “the good old days when I had to lug my laptop computer, my camera, my mp3 player, my satellite radio, my TV, my digital video player, and my PDA with me wherever I went.” In the (not-so-distant) future, all of these items will be incorporated into one small device. And that would be oh-so groovy with me.
But for right now, I’ve got to concentrate on getting just the camera in my phone. Isn’t it amazing how opinions can change?
