Blockbuster offers refunds for ‘no late fees’ program
When these ads started running, I thought that Blockbuster had finally done something good. They said “no more late fees.” I wanted to find out more, and I also knew that finding out more required reading some fine print. Within a very short time, I learned everything I needed to know about the promotion…including what was written in the fine. It wasn’t hard. I never felt misled.
Come on people! It’s 2005! If we as Americans haven’t learned that you gotta read the fine print by now, we deserve to lose our money! It’s become so easy these days to find the fine print in the first place! Look on the internet! Heck, you can even pick up the phone and ask the pimply faced video clerk what the fine print is.
So all of you misled consumers (read: lazy suckers) better get to your local Blockbuster before Apr. 28th to receive your refund. You’re gonna need it the next time you get bamboozled.
